HOW TO CONVERT DVD TO AVI NEW
DVD TO AVI- This tutorial will guide you on how to convert DVD to AVI, or DViX files using Auto GK.  AVI is an mpeg 4 movie. It has a very good quality considering the file size. In most cases, one movie can fit into one CDR disc, and still have its digital quality. If your DVD player support DiVX movie, this is the best and the cheapest alternative to SVCD and DVD. As of the writing of this tutorial, we found many stand alone DVD players that can play this format. If your purpose is to play the disc on your desktop, then you just have to download these codec’s: Gordian codec pack, and the nimo codec pack, and Divx pro. To convert any DVD to AVI format, just follow the tutorial below.

HINT: Some previously recorded AVI movies with non DiVX4/5 codec, could encounter a Codec problems. To correct these problems you need to download an XviD. You must save the old AVI movie on your hard drive. Then run the AviC (Four CC Changer) from the XviD directory. Change the Four CC to DiVX 5. You can now burn the AVI movie onto the disc.

THE TUTORIAL

There are many available applications out there that can be use to accomplish this job. However. for the purpose of this tutorial, we will be only using two applications. The first application is the Auto GK. This is the best that we can found out there, and it is FREE of charge. The second one is the DVD Decrypter. Decrypter has been known to be one of the best in ripping DVD. DVD Decrypter is also available for FREE. Before you begin with the tutorial below, you need to download and install Auto GK, and DVD Decrypter. If you have downloaded and installed them, follow the tutorial below. One last thing, it is necessary to download and install the Divx pro, or DiVX5 codec. Make sure DiVX pro is installed on your computer. Otherwise, the conversion will not work. If you don't want to install the DiVX pro, try google search, for DiVX 5 on top of this page.

STEP ONE
Create two new folders somewhere in your hard drive. Make a note of  this location. Now name the first folder " FIRST ," then the second " SECOND." CLICK HERE to view an example.

Place the DVD into the DVD ROM. Press cancel on the auto run prompt. Run the DVD Decrypter. It should scan the DVD movie automatically. If it doesn’t, eject the DVD and reload it.

1. Click on the "Mode" tab and check "IFO". 2. Click on the destination folder to open the file browser, and point it to the "FIRST" folder the one that we just have created above. Finally, click on the disc and the hard drive icon. The ripping should begin immediately and will save the movie into your hard drive. Wait until the ripping is completely done. CLICK HERE

WARNING: This could take up some large space of your hard drive, just don't forget to delete these files after you're done recording them on the disc.

STEP TWO
After the DVD Decrypter decrypted the movie, open the AutoGK. The AutoGK GUI has FOUR steps we will be discussing the basic functions of these steps. CLICK HERE to set the autoGK.

STEP THREE
After about an hour, the DiVX movie should be ready and can be burn onto the disc. Burn the movie as an "ISO," or "Data" with Nero. The output movie should fit in one CDR disc. If you need a high quality CDR, DVDR, and accessories Click here .
